We have lived in China for over two years now, and have never adapted to the typical bed found in most Chinese homes. We bought a foam pad to put on top our hard mattress. This helped a little, but my wife and I both woke up with sore backs every morning. So, I began doing research on mattresses and learned at least one thing. Don't buy a mattress without first trying it out. This seemed reasonable, so I went to the furniture mall (more like a small city) in the city we live in, Nanning. I learned something else: western mattresses in China cost a LOT of money. I came home, and ran across an ad on Facebook for Slumbermaax. I read some of the testimonials, threw caution to the wind, and ordered a Slumbermaax mattress. I am so glad I did. First, I can't believe how fast it got to my apartment -- only two days after ordering! Second, I slept straight through the night waking up (I had been waking up at least twice a night), I didn't toss and turn like usual, and I woke up well-rested with no back pain! Needless to say, I'm glad I took the risk of ordering a mattress online. We love it. I should also mention that we bought the sheets to go with it. We are very happy with these as well. This was money VERY well spent.
