When I rented a furnished apartment in China it came with the standard hard Chinese beds. After a few days my hips were aching so much I purchased a mattress topper from our local supermarket. Whilst this helped, it wasn’t sufficient to alleviate my discomfort and I purchased a second soft foam topper. Sleeping on these was just bearable. After nine months we purchased our own apartment and furnished it ourselves. I got the softest bed I could find, but I still needed one of my toppers. I put up with this for the next six years. At Chinese New Year in 2012 my daughter from England announced she was coming to stay with me. This was the excuse I needed to justify buying another bed.
My long-suffering wife had complained that I tossed and turned in my sleep and that sleeping with me was like being on a boat in a rough sea.
We had purchased a second apartment in another city and as part of that project I had researched beds and had filed a link to Slumbermaax on my computer. I revisited your website and re-read the specifications, prices, warranty, trial period details, personal recommendations, in fact all of your very comprehensive information. The only time I had previously used a memory foam mattress was at my daughter’s home in England and that was obtained from Ikea, very soft and none supportive. I had a couple of questions and emailed Slumbermaax and Spencer Jan promptly replied. Feeling that this couldn’t fail to be an improvement on what I had, I took the bull by the horns and ordered a 1.8-meter Supreme. The on-line ordering process was straightforward and only took a few minutes. The option to pay cash-on-delivery at no extra charge made the process so much easier. My order was confirmed by email.
The next day the carrier rang us to advise that our goods had been dispatched from Shanghai. Three days later they rang again to say it would be delivered to us in Nanning that day and we should pay the driver on receipt.
We installed it on our bed base and gingerly tried it. So far so good. We dressed the bed and my Chinese wife said “New year – new bed – a good omen” - must be something to do with Feng-Shui!
Well the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as the saying goes. We are delighted with the Slumbermaax Supreme mattress; it exceeds our expectations in every way. It is completely different from anything I've ever had before and so comfortable. I now sleep until after 10 am each morning instead of waking around 6 am. There is zero motion transfer, which pleases my wife. She said I no longer pitch and turn in my sleep, and I get the best sleep I have ever had. Win-win situation for all as Chinese often say. It is just wonderful, an amazing product, I’ll never go back to the old fashioned ‘springs and things’ and I shall certainly be ordering one or two more from you when we furnish our second apartment later this year.
I have recommended it to other Nanning ex-pats; we all feel the same about sleeping on Chinese “board” beds.

As an aside: my stepdaughter’s American fiancé has a TempurPedic mattress which he claims is 1” thicker (he has to be better than everyone else!) and cost him over US$5000 and he says “feels the same.”

I arrived in Shanghai 10 years ago and rented a furnished apartment. The mattress provided was like a slab of concrete but not unlike those I had slept on in Chinese hotels around the country. I accepted this as a cultural preference and "lived" with it. However, as China has advanced so has the age and wear and tear on my body. Over time I became more painfully aware of the pressure points on my body and would rise each day from a poor night's sleep wracked with pain. Finally I had had enough and began to search for a new mattress. I found SlumberMaax. The buying experience was simple, efficient and the delivery/set up flawless--a pleasant and welcomed change to what I have experienced with other deliveries to my home. We had just come home from looking at some other beds in the city. After laying on a lot of beds this past weekend I can say that there are a lot of cheap uncomfortable beds out there but the surprising thing is that there are a whole lot more expensive and equally uncomfortable beds out there. We did see some nice Tempur beds but who wants to pay 40k+ for a mattress we probably won't take when we leave China. My wife found your through a friend's recommendation and it was perfect timing. I just moved into Shanghai and found you guys online. I'm glad I did because there was no way I could sleep on the new but hard mattress that was given to me by my landlord. The apartment is great but the furnishings leave A LOT to be desired. I've been sleeping on my new mattress for over a week now and I'm loving it. I've slept on a lot of different memory foam beds back in the states and I can say that you guys made a really really quality bed. A great price for the quality of mattress (didn't expect to find this type of quality in China). Thanks for making the transition to Shanghai a lot easier. you've made my home away from home a lot more comfortable.

TRUELY GREAT MATTRESS WITH GREAT MEDICAL IMPLICATIONS

I am from the UK, 4 years ago I was a healthy outgoing business owner, single dad and body builder/instructor, I contracted a rare muscle waisting neural viral infection that disabled me on my right side and overnight destroyed my life. However thru determination and positive attitude we moved here for a different health strategy and life. The biggest difficulty I had is sleeping. No pressure points or loads. DR.J. THORPE (cambridge neurosurgeon) prescribed memory foam orthopedic beds, ie.Tempur as nothing came close. UNTIL NOW.... I WOULD NOT STAKE MY HEALTH AND LIFE ON JUST ANYTHING. Since I moved here I haven't slept for more than 2 nights, due to a shipping error my mattress was lost and replacing my Tempur would cost over £3500. Fortunately I spoke with Spencer and decided to try his product, boy was i glad. Since installing I sleep thru the night comfortably, its as firm and sportive as a Tempur but cooler and not so hard when you first get in. NOW my biggest issue is having to get out cos its so good. I sleep better, my mood is better, my health is feeling better. I FEEL BETTER..you cannot put a price on happiness or your health, believe me I know.. but if i had to it would be 5999 yuan. Slumbermaax invited me to be the first to share my thoughts on their "Supreme" bed. I'm more than happy to do so because it's AWESOME! Apparently this is a new style (I didn't know) that they just added. It's fab-o! Great support for a heavy guy like me and my wife says she loves it too. I was told that they designed this mattress after one of Tempurpedic's mattresses. I'm familiar with those beds so it sounded good enough to try out. Really glad we did! Ordering was fast and easy as is falling asleep!
