SlumberMAAX Donates to "More Than Aware" Breast Cancer Fundraiser

On the 26th of October, a miracle will happen. Expat women from all over Shanghai will gather to celebrate sisterhood and become "More Than Aware" about breast cancer.

The "More Than Aware" Luncheon and Silent Auction will be held at the Kerry Parkside Hotel in Pudong Shanghai. With the goal of encouraging awareness, providing a bit of education and fostering empowerment, this event aims to help the Shanghai sisterhood of women become "more than aware" about this disease.

This event will feature a wide variety of speakers, covering topics from prevention to detection to how to support those affected by the disease. In addition, the event has a fundraising goal. A wide variety of Shanghai businesses are generously supporting the event with donations to a fabulous silent auction, which seeks to raise 20,000 RMB toward a grant for breast cancer research or treatment.

This event was spearheaded by Shanghai expat Suzanne Calton in honor of her mother, who passed away from the disease recently. Suzanne's dream of this event is being made a reality thru the help of a fellowhood of Shanghai expats, who have responded to her call to organize this important event in less than a week. Special thanks go to the auction sponsors, including SlumberMAAX, a company actively involved in helping expat communities in China.

Shanghai Mamas is one of Shanghai's most helpful and outreaching expat communities! Not only do they provide tremendous help and support to mothers, they help expat families navigate all facets of expat life in China. We had a great time participating in Cityweekend's Family day held in Pudong on Saturday Oct 15th. We enjoyed the fun, games, food, music and performances. Even Elmo dropped by our SlumberMAAX booth to say hi!

A New Partnership with Lifeline Shanghai

We're glad to announce that we've become a partner with Lifeline Shanghai.

LifeLine Shanghai is a public-benefit, non-profit organization offering free, confidential, and anonymous information and emotional support. They are affiliated with and accredited by LifeLine International, based in Australia, funded in part by the World Health Organization. The worldwide organization has representation in 22 countries and a corps of volunteers of more than 30,000. Launched in 2004, their helpline has continued to provide Shanghai's international community with easy access to effective support, crisis intervention, referrals and information. Additionally, LifeLine Shanghai offers the YouthLink program to international schools as well as community outreach and workshops.

We're glad to be a part of helping Shanghai's expat community!

SlumberMAAX was proud to be a part of ShanghaiMamas.org new website launch party that was held on 9/18/2010. We had a great time mingling with everyone that attended and loved the activities that ran throughout the day. We had a booth set up along side some great folks and had fun showing people what a soft supportive mattress feels like. It was great to run into so many past customers as well. The hotdogs were yummy and our team even won a few prizes from the raffle drawing as well. Thank you to ShanghaiMamas.org for inviting us and for putting on such a great event.
